How do you talk? Friendly, although occasionally a bit of steel shows through.
What is the one thing you couldn’t live without? A doughty ship with a crew to sail her.
What do you spend most of your days doing? Plotting the pursuit of the things that would harm the world of men, looking out for his crew, trying to convince Auckleman it’s totally reasonable to go on dangerous away missions.

What do you do for fun? I like to get to know my crew. They always provide infinite entertainments.

What do you like about yourself? I am an excellent captain, a sure swordsman, and the best pilot on the water.
What would other people say you are good at? All of the above.
What do you want to change about yourself? I want to end this curse on myself and be the man I was before, but not until I use this dark power to revenge myself.
What is your favorite book/story/artist? The ballad of Morthos, another cursed figure who was nevertheless a hero.
What is your favorite food? Fresh fruit and vegetables and hot steak. The treats you can only have in ports.
Do you have a pet? A cat, to hunt the rats on the ship. I call him Bertram.
If your house was burning down, what would you take with you? My maps, my compass, and my boots.
You’ve got that. Now what non living thing would you take with you from the house? My sword.
Fear was an adventurous young man, who went to seek his fortune at sea as early in life as he could. His father was a gone for long stretches of his childhood, at sea as an officer in the illustrious 3rd Albion Fleet.
Seeking to follow the family tradition, Fear first got his sea legs on the merchant ship Goodwind where he met his friend Peter Hall. The two became an inseparable duo, helping each other out of many a scrape. Eventually, Fear joined a the navy of Albion and, with his excellent skills in command and piloting, quickly rose through the ranks.
His last posting in the Navy was with an interceptor called the Kestrel. He was named as the executive officer and served in that position for two years before a terrible fate befell the vessel. After pulling in to a mysterious harbor to avoid a storm, the officers were served a meal by young women claiming to be temple maidens of the island. That is the last thing Fear remembers before we awoke on the deck of his ship, with a white mask on his face, adrift and surrounded by the corpses of his entire crew. Their bodies were slashed by blades, scored by teeth and claws, and burned in places. As Fear examined himself, he found that his appearance was drastically changed and that dark energies ran through his body.
Having since retraced the course of the ship, he found no island where the Kestrel put in to harbor that day.
